Our Progress so Far – Cascade’s 2021 Diversity Report

June 20, 2021

In 2020, Cascade Energy recognized that our internal Diversity, Equity, Inclusion and Accessibility (DEIA) team could be doing a better job representing our employees and the communities in which we live and work. We re-committed to prioritizing DEIA and one of our first steps was to rebuild the DEIA team. The team now includes employees who volunteered and applied to join, representing a variety of backgrounds and levels of work experience, from new hires to the Board and C-levels. These past two years have been filled with lots of learning, difficult conversations, and hard work.

We recognize the pervasive and ongoing effects of systemic racism and its disproportionate effects on Black, Indigenous, and People of Color (BIPOC) groups and are committed to our anti-racism statement. We are actively using our skills and work to create just and equitable futures for: our current and prospective employees, our clients and partners, and the communities in which we live and work.

Cascade Energy is committed to a culture valuing diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEIA) and our practices and policies reflect this commitment. Our people are our most important competitive advantage.

Cascade employees are a unique and varied group of talented, intelligent individuals. We respect our differences and recognize that diversity makes Cascade stronger. We have built a company where people take pride in their work and take advantage of a rich work environment with many opportunities for professional and personal growth. At Cascade Energy, we do not tolerate any acts of discrimination by or against our team members, starting with the recruiting process.

Please read our full 2021 Diversity Report to learn more about how we are working to transform our everyday work through equity and inclusion. This report includes current staff diversity statistics, new hire data, management/executive-level diversity statistics, areas of improvement, and areas of opportunity. While we are acknowledging our progress, we also recognize that we have a long way to go, and we pledge to be humble, take responsibility, and grow from our mistakes.

Let us know what you think and feel free to share ideas on how we can continue to improve! Thank you.
