Energy Improvement in Rural or Remote Areas Grant Program

Decarbonization strategies for rural communities must consider water and wastewater infrastructure. Cascade Energy’s efficiency-first methodology maximizes ROI, and now can be bolstered through the Energy Improvement in Rural or Remote Areas (ERA) Grant Program. This grant provides $50 million in Federal funding and is designed to support small community-driven clean energy projects.

The program goals are:

  • Benefit energy customers in rural or remote areas through funding replicable projects that lower energy costs, improve energy access and resilience, and/or reduce environmental harm.
  • Support new rural or remote energy system models using climate-resilient technologies, business structures that promote economic resilience, new financing mechanisms, and/or new community engagement practices.
  • Build clean energy knowledge, capacity, and self-reliance in rural America.

With this grant opportunity you could invest in water and wastewater decarbonization at a much lower cost while significantly reducing your carbon emissions.

If you are unsure where to start, we can help! Cascade professionals are experts in decarbonizing the life cycle of a water system and are prepared to be your trusted guides from the proposal process through program design through implementation.
