In January 2019, the American Council for an Energy-Efficient Economy (ACEEE) honored Energy Smart Industrial (ESI) as an Exemplary Program. In a press release, the Bonneville Power Administration highlighted the ESI program’s achievement of 1.4 million MWh of verified energy savings, a 7.2% reduction in the region’s industrial load. Cascade Energy is proud to have served as BPA’s program partner since ESI’s inception in 2009.
The ESI program supports more than 110 public utilities and their industrial customers, offering prescriptive rebates and custom project incentives based on measured and verified energy savings. The program’s complementary component offerings include large custom projects, strategic energy management, lighting, and small industrial measures. In the decade since its creation, ESI has also worked with customers to evolve M&V protocols to address safety, accuracy, and cost considerations.
This marks the second time that ESI has been recognized as an Exemplary Program by ACEEE. As the program enters its 10th year, the ESI team remains committed to helping the industries of the region implement lasting change to reduce their energy consumption.
