In addition to leading Cascade, Marcus Wilcox excels at making connections with people, whether industry thought leaders, Fortune 500 executives, local utility program representatives, or shop-floor operators. His desire to connect with different audiences and figure out what they really care about has fueled his passion for collaborating with industrial customers and demand-side management programs across the continent to achieve sustainable energy savings. As a recognized leader in industrial refrigeration and behavior-based energy savings, he is also a well-known and respected trainer and speaker.
Marcus founded Cascade in 1993 with Rob Morton and Mike McDevitt. Over time, they grew the company from a small consultancy to a much larger, broad-based energy management firm with expanded capabilities in strategic energy management, corporate energy management, and the design, roll-out, and execution of innovative efficiency programs. As Cascade has grown, Marcus has emphasized the principles of strong technical competence, delivering excellent customer service and value, and operating safely and efficiently.
During graduate school at Oregon State University, Marcus was the first student through the US Department of Energy-sponsored Industrial Assessment Center. He also put himself through college as an operator and mechanic for wheat and pea combines.
