Idaho Power Works to Increase Energy Efficiency

Idaho Power is proving to their customers that utilities don’t always have to be cast as the “bad guys.” Sure, regular rate increases rankle, but Idaho Power has extended the hand of friendship in the form of providing a cohort-based energy efficiency training for wastewater system operators from 11 Idaho communities. The training includes a free two-year subscription to energy mangement software and over a year of workshops giving participants the tools to make changes in their energy efficiency without affecting their permit. “We’re going to learn so much from this process,” said cohort participant Mollie Mangerich, Environmental Programs Manager for the City of Meridian.
