Marcus has in-depth field experience in industrial energy efficiency, with particular expertise in industrial refrigeration and behavior-based energy savings. In addition leading Cascade Energy, Marcus is a well-known and respected speaker. He brings a rare combination of theoretical and real-world expertise to energy analysis, modeling, monitoring, metering, verification, and commissioning.

Marcus founded Cascade Energy in 1993 with two current principals, Rob Morton and Mike McDevitt. Over time, they grew the company from a small consultancy to a much larger and broad-based energy management firm with capabilities in the areas of corporate energy management as well as the design, roll-out, and execution of innovative efficiency programs. As the firm has grown, Marcus has emphasized the principles of strong technical competence, delivering excellent customer value, and operating safely and efficiently.

Interesting Personal Facts

During graduate school at Oregon State University, Marcus was the first student through the US Department of Energy-sponsored Industrial Assessment Center. He also put himself through college as an operator and mechanic for wheat and pea combines.
