Barbara Dusicka

Vice President of Technology and Internal Operations

Barbara Dusicka excels as a translator, whether it’s providing Spanish translations for her children’s school, translating slang from her native New Zealand, or translating the needs of energy-efficiency engineers and industrial facilities into SENSEI®, Cascade’s energy management and collaboration software. With over a dozen years of industrial energy-efficiency consulting expertise and a strong problem-solving and continuous improvement mindset, she is ideally suited to lead the strategic planning, visioning, and execution of Cascade’s technology, operations, and software vision.

Barbara is responsible for the oversight and management of Cascade’s information technology, internal operations, and software development teams. She joined the Cascade leadership team in 2018 after directing our software development efforts and providing strategic and feature-level guidance to the design of SENSEI®. She has worked at Cascade since 2004 in a wide range of roles spanning the implementation of industrial energy-efficiency projects to the management of Cascade’s project engineering group. Barbara also oversees Cascade’s growing operations across eleven offices throughout the United States. Her impressive experience is rounded out by a master’s degree in Engineering Management and undergraduate degrees in Mechanical Engineering and European Languages.

Personal Facts

Since moving to the United States from New Zealand, Barbara bounced from hot (a hydrogen engine research lab) to cold (cryogenic pump design) before finding equilibrium at Cascade. With three very active children, Barbara and her family spend a lot of time at various sporting events as well as visiting family living abroad. For hobbies, Barbara recently started playing tennis in a local league, and runs a grade school program which purchases new books for students in need. She enjoys reading herself but admits that most of her literary selections nowadays are either work-related or middle-school fiction to share with her family.
